It utilizes the finest quality leather from calves approximately three months old. This material is difficult to handle even for master craftsmen, prone to scratches during the sewing process. This susceptibility to scratches means the leather develops character and patina with use. Furthermore, techniques such as pleating and bellows pockets are achievable due to the thorough thinning (the process of making the leather thinner) of the leather. Skilled artisans possess the ability to thin the leather to half the thickness of newspaper (0.02mm). Finished with a bare finish that does not apply processing to the surface, this product allows you to enjoy the fine grain of the calf leather, the texture of the bare finish, and the increasingly smooth, soft feel as it is used.
