This is a classical-tuned shinobue (transverse flute) that is perfect for traditional Japanese music such as Hayashi and Kagura. Because it is tuned to a classical tuning, the pitch is not perfectly accurate. There may also be slight variations in pitch between individual instruments. The pitch may differ from other manufacturers' shinobue flutes of the same tuning. If you intend to play with shamisen or Western instruments, please purchase our shinobue flutes tuned to a vocal tuning. Please do not subject it to impact.
