Tale of Genji by Shuko Confectionery

After deciphering the 54 chapters of The Tale of Genji, each Japanese sweet is created based on the image evoked by each chapter (the sweets are not for sale).

The sweets are made by Takaya Hironori, who was born into the long-established Kyoto sweets shop Shioyoshiken, and is now independent and works at the popular shop Juko in Nishijin. The tableware that beautifully displays the sweets was selected by Kaji Yuko, owner of Utsuwa-ya Kanon. Kaji Yuko also coordinated the sweets.

The world of The Tale of Genji is expressed through Japanese sweets, born from the collaboration of these two. This is a unique and unique book that will soothe you just by looking at the beautiful photographs of the sweets and tableware.
