Growing instructions
Preparing the sugar water mixture :
Use bottled mineral water to avoid contaminants like chlorine.
Add about 10% apple or lemon syrup without preservatives (glucose/fructose).
Mix 10 ml of mycelium per liter of sweetened water (for example, 15 ml for a 1.5 liter bottle).
Shake gently to distribute the mycelium well.
Development of mycelium :
Place the mixture in a dark room at a stable temperature of at least 20°C.
Let it rest for 4 to 5 days until the mycelium filaments develop and the liquid becomes cloudy.
Soil inoculation :
Dig shallow holes or furrows around the target trees, about 1 meter from the trunk.
Fill the holes with a mixture of compost (leaves, wood, straw) or of slightly decomposed humus.
Distribute the mycelium mixture over the moistened substrate.
Add a thin layer of mulch (dead leaves or straw) to preserve moisture.
Environmental conditions :
Humidity : Maintain high humidity, particularly during the first three weeks after inoculation.
Temperature : Favor moderate temperatures between 10°C and 25°C.
Exposure : Blonde Morels prefer semi-shaded or well-exposed areas.
Seasonality and harvest
Inoculation : Spring or early autumn, when the climatic conditions are mild and humid.
Expected fruiting : Blonde Morels usually fruit in spring, between March and May. Fruiting can sometimes take 2 to 3 years, but the mycelium can continue to produce for several years under ideal conditions.
