Kikagaku Moyo (Geometric Pattern) drummer/vocalist Go Kurosawa has released his first solo album from Guruguru Brain! Go Kurosawa has experienced festivals, live performances, jam sessions with various artists, and recordings all over the world for over 10 years at Kikagaku Moyo.
This work “Soft Shakes” is Kikagaku Moyo's first complete solo work where he performed and produced all instruments himself after his activities ended. It was produced from January to June 2024 through a “one-person jam session” at Guruguru Brain Studio in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Go Kurosawa comment
“The band was based on “who will perform what,” but this time I decided to try everything myself as much as possible. For now, I'm going to try out what I can and can't do. Don't expect anything, just try it out. Jam with myself. That became the concept.”
“From the cold and rainy winter to early spring in Europe, I went to the studio every day, picked up an instrument that was just there, and made a sound. Even if it's the next day, if my heart moves, I'll make changes. If not, I'll start anew again. Feel free to create one step at a time while having fun

A solo jam who penetrated “dialogue with sound.” The song recorded in is a track that crosses over various genres with the freedom of a jam session.
“Every day I listened to the sounds made the day before in a fresh state, and while adding and subtracting sounds, I realized that I was jamming with my past self.” The artwork was first created by my partner Ao Karoui.
“I'm so excited to be able to take on my first challenge with my partner. There's an unconventional sense of freedom and boldness there, and I think it matches the sound I made.”
The last production in Europe and the beginning of a new journey It is said that at the time of album production, he was thinking, “Where should I live after living in Europe for 8 years?” As a result, this work became an iconic album that marked a break in life in Europe.
“I think the sound shows the feeling of thinking about my distant hometown or a place I haven't been to yet. It was the end of my trip and the beginning of my next trip when I made this work.”
We are currently working on a new studio concept based in Fukuoka, Japan. I hope the album “Soft Shakes” will trigger someone's fantasy journey.
“I want people who listen to it to travel somewhere through music. I would be happy if you could forget about time and drift away, and when you've finished listening to the album, you'll feel like you've “come back” after finishing your trip to a home where you can feel safe.”
