3️⃣ Which wheel should I choose?
Apart from ground conditions, load capacity is one of the most important criteria for selecting wheels. To determine the required load capacity, the following variables must be known:
the equipment's own weight
• the maximum load weight or load capacity
• the number of wheels that will be used
• The wheel must always be in contact with the ground. In practice, this rarely occurs due to thresholds or unevenness in the ground. As a result, the total load often ends up on three wheels, and the load per wheel increases. Therefore, the total load must be
divided by three wheels instead of four, to achieve a safe load capacity. When determining the safe total load capacity for a 4-wheeled device, we take into account the weight of the device plus its maximum load.
Divide the sum by 3 to obtain the safe load capacity that should be assumed for 1 wheel.
In other cases, the load capacities are distributed as follows:
1) 1 swivel caster + 2 fixed casters
