Papillon Remastered Complete Edition (Soundtrack)

Media Reviews and More

The soundtrack to the hugely popular 1973 drama "Papillon," which had long been out of print, is finally being re-released! The music is by Jerry Goldsmith. Goldsmith teamed up with master director Franklin J. Schaffner, and this duo produced numerous masterpieces such as "Planet of the Apes," "Patton," and "The Boys from Brazil," with "Papillon" being considered one of them and one of Goldsmith's most representative works. The score for this Academy Award-nominated film is considered one of Goldsmith's finest works and a personal favorite. The memorable main theme remains a celebrated classic. This release is a straight reissue of the 27-track album originally released in 2017, featuring remastered audio. It includes all the music Goldsmith recorded for the film, including music not ultimately included in the final film, extended versions of some cues cut during editing, and alternate tracks. (C)RS CD
