This fifth album by The Clash is a global hit, reaching number 2 in the UK and number 7 in the US, and includes representative songs such as "Rock the Casbah," the band's biggest hit to date, which reached number 8 in the US, "Stay or Go," which reached number 1 in the UK 10 years later, and "Assert Your Rights." The album was supported for its return to a simple and straightforward rock and roll style, and was mixed by Glyn Jones, with Beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg participating as a backing vocalist, which generated a lot of buzz. Following the release of this album, Topper Headon and Mick Jones left the band, making it the last album with the core members. Disc 2, "THE PEOPLE'S HALL," includes 12 tracks, including unreleased material and remixes, befitting this special edition.
