The Pico Deep Freeze Sound Retainer sits between the original Freeze pedal and the Superego pedal. With its ability to freeze sounds in an instant, the Deep Freeze functions as a sustain pedal to hold chords or single notes as backing, or as a platform to manipulate new sounds impossible with a normal guitar. In addition to the capabilities of the original Freeze, the Deep Freeze is a powerful pedal featuring layering, adjustable attack/decay speed, glissando, dedicated volume control, and three modes: Latch/Moment/Auto. The Deep Freeze can instantly freeze sounds in three modes: Latch mode freezes the sound each time the footswitch is pressed until the effect is bypassed, Moment mode freezes the sound only while the footswitch is pressed, and Auto mode automatically captures the sound whenever it detects a signal above the threshold. It freezes virtually without any footswitch operation. With these three modes, Deep Freeze effortlessly adapts to any playing style. Deep Freeze's controls allow you to further adjust the details of the effect. Separate volume controls for DRY and EFFECT allow you to blend signals from subtle backing to 100 percent wet. GLISS adjusts the speed of change between frozen sounds, creating sounds from another world. The SPEED/LAYER knob adjusts the attack/decay time of the effect in Moment and Auto modes, and the volume of the sound before layering in Latch mode.
