[Product Description]
Reintroducing the Shōkaku aircraft carrier from the Pacific War at a 1/350 scale! This product is an unpainted kit that requires assembly with glue and painting. The scale is 1/350, featuring a full hull style including the hull bottom. The Shōkaku-class aircraft carrier was planned as part of the Maru 3 plan during the same period as the Yamato-class battleships, and the second ship, Shōkaku, was completed in September of Showa 16 (1941) at Kobe/Kawasaki Heavy Industries before the start of the Pacific War. Along with the first ship, Shōkaku, it formed the 5th Air Fleet and participated in the Pearl Harbor attack. It experienced the first-ever carrier-to-carrier naval battle during the Coral Sea battle. After losing four ships including the Akagi, which was a main part of the air power, Shōkaku remained a central force of the Mobile Force until the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October of Showa 19 (1944), where it was sunk by American air attacks.
