1) The automatic lead rotation mechanism, which rotates the lead twice as fast, allows for consistent, clean lines in both darkness and thickness. The "Kuru Toga Standard Model" uses a 40-tooth gear for 40 rotations per turn, with the "Kuru Toga Engine". The "Advance" features a "W Speed Engine" with a 20-tooth gear that rotates twice as fast, resulting in 20 rotations per turn.
This gear change allows for a finer line width—about 12% thinner with HB and about 17% thinner with 2B (using the same 0.5mm lead).
Even with leads that tend to wear unevenly, such as those used for kanji or English letters with fewer strokes and longer lines, the mechanism ensures uniform, neat lines.
When using softer, darker leads like 2B, the text remains clear and sharp without smudging, unlike conventional mechanical pencils.
The gear mark inside the pencil has been redesigned to distinguish the "W Speed Engine" from the "Kuru Toga Engine" mark.
2) Precision-machined parts suppress the vibration of the pen tip, characteristic of Kuru Toga, ensuring stable writing feel. The automatic lead rotation mechanism rotates the lead with each stroke, causing the gear to move up and down as the lead tip leaves the paper.
By using finely processed metal parts for the tip, vibrations are reduced, stabilizing the writing experience.
3) Equipped with a lead break prevention mechanism, making it less likely for the lead to break and allowing for focused writing.
A sliding pipe allows writing without extending the lead from the tip pipe, preventing lead breakage.
The optimized shape and processing of the sliding pipe enable continuous writing even when the lead is not extended, without compromising the writing feel.
The sliding pipe moves in conjunction with the lead, allowing for prolonged writing until the pipe shortens with each click.
Ideal for tests or classes where extended concentration is needed.
