The "Advance" features a mechanism that enables clean writing.
1) The automatic lead rotation mechanism, which rotates the lead twice as fast, allows for consistent line thickness and darkness.
The "Kuru Toga Standard Model" uses a 40-tooth gear for a 40-degree rotation per turn, with the "Kuru Toga Engine" automatic lead rotation mechanism.
The "Advance" is equipped with a "W Speed Engine" using a 20-tooth gear that rotates twice as fast, with the lead rotating once every 20 degrees.
This gear change allows for approximately 12% thinner lines with HB lead and about 17% thinner lines with 2B lead (using the same 0.5mm lead).
Even with soft, dark leads like 2B, which tend to cause lead breakage and uneven lines, the mechanism ensures clear, consistent lines.
Additionally, the "W Speed Engine" mark on the internal gear is designed to be easily distinguishable from the "Kuru Toga Engine" mark.
2) Precision-machined parts suppress the vibration of the pen tip, resulting in stable writing feel.
The automatic lead rotation mechanism rotates the lead with each stroke, causing the gear to move up and down as the lead is rotated.
By using finely processed metal parts for the tip, vibration is reduced, stabilizing the writing experience.
3) Equipped with a lead breakage prevention mechanism, making it less likely for the lead to break and allowing for focused writing.
A sliding pipe allows writing without extending the lead beyond the tip pipe, preventing lead breakage.
The optimized shape and processing enable continuous writing even with the lead retracted.
The sliding pipe moves in conjunction with the lead, allowing prolonged writing until the pipe shortens with each click.
Ideal for tests and classes where extended concentration is needed.
