REPTECH HID Heating Bulb Metahalogen 35W UVA UVB + UVI tester Emits UVA, UVB e27 thread We include a UVI tester with each lamp Remember to buy the right ballast, without it the lamp will not work! Available Wattage: 35, 50 and 70W Metal Halide Lamp for Reptiles (High Intensity Discharge) Reptech HID metal halide lamps are the best all-in-one solution available on the market today. These bulbs feature energy savings compared to MVL type bulbs, a more complete light spectrum and a significantly longer life . HID technology offers the most stable, as well as the most affordable solution for delivering light, UVA, UVB and heat to reptiles and birds. Top quality RepTech metal halide bulbs have a lifespan of at least 12 months under normal use and stable UV levels over the long term. These lamps have external ballasts, so an additional starter assembly (ballast/starter) will be required for operation. Use a ballast model specifically designed for the required bulb wattage. The lamp can only be used in ceramic/porcelain E27 sockets. RepTech HID metal halide lamps have an integrated reflector located in the aluminum housing. The aluminum lamp housing reduces the temperature of the filament. By improving heat flow within the lamp, the molecular changes in the quartz glass have been slowed down, guaranteeing long-term stability of the UV beam. RepTech emits sunlight at a universal color temperature of 5,200 K. The balanced range of UV radiation offered by HID RepTech is essential for the proper synthesis of vitamin D3, which contributes to proper calcium metabolism (bone building) and increases animal breeding and reproduction success. Essential UV rays in a terrarium Birds and reptiles, unlike humans, have appropriate receptors for receiving ultraviolet light. The lack of UV radiation in the lighting provided to our critters is often downplayed by keepers because, as mentioned, humans cannot perceive this light and focus on illumination within the visible light range. In the case of reptiles , ultraviolet is essential not only for vitamin D3 synthesis but also allows the animals to search for food, recognize their surroundings, and identify mates. Please remember that terrarium glass typically blocks UV rays, and for this reason, all UV bulbs must be located inside the terrarium. Only in this way can the RepTech HID ensure proper UV-A and UV-B emission. User Manual The first start-up of the HID RepTech should last at least 2 uninterrupted hours as the lamp must properly ignite and stabilize to avoid future damage. Prematurely turning off the HID RepTech during the first start-up can destroy the bulb. Changes to the lamp, ballasts or other installation components should only be made after disconnecting the system from the power supply. The HID RepTech lamp is designed to operate only with an appropriate electronic ballast (ballast). If the ballast was delivered with a protective foil, the foil must be removed before use. Please do not install the HID lamp in the immediate vicinity of flammable products. Please ensure adequate ventilation. Never cover the lamp and ballasts. Ceramic sockets that demonstrate stable operation at high temperatures should be used. If irregular lamp operation is observed, remove the lamp immediately. To ensure adequate UV emission quality, the recommended maximum continuous use period of the lamp is approximately 12 to 14 months with normal use (8-12 hours per day). Over time, the UV radiation efficiency of the RepTech HID lamp decreases, which is normal for this type of lamp. We do not recommend using lamps with thermostats, as frequent switching on and off will lead to a rapid reduction in lamp life. The recommended minimum continuous lighting time is 8 hours. Reducing the lighting time below the minimum will shorten the lamp's useful life. The UV intensity of the beam may change, as with other UV sources, with the age of the lamp. To ensure the proper composition of the light beam for the animals, you can regularly test the composition of the beam using UVB/UVI meters. We recommend replacing the lamps regularly.
