[Made with care by Japanese craftsmen] Each tray is carefully and lovingly crafted one by one in our own workshop. Instead of being quickly formed with a press, we use a traditional Japanese technique called "leather molding," which takes time to set the shape and create smooth, gentle curves. From there, the edges of the leather are carefully trimmed, polished, and painted to create a high-quality tray.
[Simple, timeless, and sophisticated design] We created many samples to determine the most user-friendly size and shape of the tray, and finally arrived at this slightly larger form. Many leather trays on the market are made by sewing pieces of leather together or fastening the edges with buttons. However, this leather tray is finished with a three-dimensional curve that has no seams or fasteners, so there are no sharp corners that could catch on anything. The smooth curve makes it easy to slide in small items like coins. In fact, it's incredibly practical. Because of its simple design, we paid attention to the details to create a user-friendly and functional tray. It's a representative long-selling product of atelier CODEL. It's loved by many people.
[High-Quality Extra-Thick Vegetable-Tanned Leather] Recently, it has become difficult to reliably obtain extra-thick leather. We source thick leather through our own unique channels and deliver it to you. We use full vegetable-tanned leather (natural leather) that does not use any chemicals. Because of its simple design, we paid particular attention to the material.
