FineMolds 1/48 Japanese Navy Type 96 Model 2 Carrier-Based Fighter Model 2 Plastic Model Kit FB20

This is a 1/48 scale plastic model kit of the Imperial Japanese Navy Type 96 Model 2 Carrier Fighter, Type 2, from FineMolds.

The Type 96 Carrier Fighter is said to have propelled Japan, which lagged behind Europe and the United States in fighter aircraft design at the time, to the top level.

Jiro Horikoshi, the chief designer, described it in his writings as a masterpiece surpassing even the Zero fighter.

Among them, the early model of the Type 2, Type 2, featured a sealed canopy and a distinctive fuselage shape.

This kit reproduces that distinctive form with a completely new design and new molds.

This is the first time the early model of the Type 2, Type 2, has been made into a plastic model kit.
