Based on acoustic engineering, psychoacoustics, and spatial acoustics, this new "standard" earphone was born from research into the differences between sound sources produced using 2-channel stereo and those produced using binaural technology. It was widely known that listening to binaurally produced sound sources such as games and VR with conventional earphones and headphones resulted in a unique sense of discomfort in the high-frequency range. While researchers involved in acoustics had grasped the cause of this, there had been no successful examples of countermeasures. This time, by taking a new approach to address this problem, we have been able to create earphones that allow users to experience the timbre, spatial image, and sense of direction as intended by the creators when listening to binaurally produced sound sources such as games and VR. In VR3000 for Gaming, further research has enabled even more accurate reproduction.
The "VR3000 for Gaming" gaming earphones, which focus on "spatial" expression, were developed based on final's research into the acoustic physical properties required for transducers that reproduce the sound spatial impression as intended by the creator when playing immersive binaural sound* with headphones and earphones. By accurately reproducing the "space" of games and content as intended by the creator, it promotes immersion. For example, in a mission in the dark in an FPS game, rather than highlighting the sounds of the enemy, the player can naturally increase their reaction time by immersing themselves in the world of the work. As a result, it is possible to enter the world of the work with a sense of physical sensation, that is, with the same feeling as in the real world. * "Immersive binaural sound": Binaural sound that makes it possible to hear three-dimensional sound, characterized by sound image localization and the expansion of sound space in three dimensions (front, back, left, right, up, and down), with earphones or headphones.
Equipped with final's completely redesigned driver unit "f-Core DU," which re-examines everything from design, components, and production technology. In order to achieve a high level of sound quality that is unheard of in this price range, a new base was established overseas, and driver components such as the diaphragm, voice coil, magnet, magnetic circuit, and adhesives for each part, as well as production equipment, were newly designed to develop the completely redesigned 6mmφ dynamic driver unit "f-Core DU." The material used for the driver front housing is brass, which is less affected by magnetic force than ordinary aluminum and has a higher specific gravity. In order to improve the time response performance of the diaphragm, an ultra-fine 30μ CCAW is used for the voice coil, and the movable parts are thoroughly lightened by assembling with a minimum amount of adhesive. Furthermore, the diaphragm is carefully pressed in small batches of about 1/3 the usual amount, minimizing pressure unevenness and achieving the formation of a uniform diaphragm without distortion.
A Fit Like It Was Customized The VR3000 for Gaming builds upon the optimal housing design established during the development of the B series, resulting in an even better fit. Whether earphones fit well or not is determined by the amount of pressure they cause. While methods that rely on the resilience of silicone, such as those that claim to be ergonomic and use organic shapes, may seem correct at first glance, they constantly apply pressure to the ear, putting strain on the ear without you realizing it and causing fatigue to accumulate. Compared to organic shapes that make contact with the ear over a large surface area, we aimed for a fit without pressure by limiting the contact area. The VR3000 for Gaming's housing provides a stable fit by being held at three points. These are one point in the pink area (ear pocket) in the diagram below, one point in the green area (eartip), and one point in the blue area (tragus), for a total of three points. Therefore, it fits most people's ears. When there is no pressure at any of the contact points, you will feel that earphones can be this comfortable, with an excellent fit that feels like it was customized.
