OCD using a germanium diode The OCD is a very open sounding overdrive/distortion circuit that is quite different from typical overdrives in that it uses a mosfet for clipping and the clipping is connected to the circuit's voltage reference (vref) rather than ground. The result is a much more interactive sound, whether you pick softly or hard, compared to traditional "diode-to-ground" clipping overdrives.
