Northern Kanto is vast, and has been home to a wide variety of trains and electric vehicles, from long-distance mainline trains to short-distance local trains. Between the Showa and Heisei eras, local lines underwent continuous change, with lines transitioning from JNR to JR and then to third-sector ownership, lines transformed by electrification, and lines replaced with new diesel railcars. Meanwhile, on mainline lines like the Tohoku Main Line, Joban Line, and Takasaki Line, the introduction of new train types introduced after the takeover of JR has progressed, and the types of trains featured in the photos are no longer seen. This is also true for local line photographs. The 1990s was already around 30 years ago. I now have fond memories of the JNR type trains that were still in operation at the time, and this can also be said for the Shinetsu Main Line, which crossed the Usui Pass.
