The Imperial Japanese Navy heavy cruiser Myoko is being reissued with a two-piece 25mm machine gun! The Myoko-class heavy cruisers were planned and constructed under the Washington Naval Treaty. Four ships were built: the Nachi, Ashigara, and Haguro, along with the lead ship Myoko. Completed in 1929 at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal, it was equipped with five 20cm twin guns and four triple torpedo tubes, providing a balanced offensive and defensive capability. Before the outbreak of the Pacific War, the ship underwent two modifications, including a 20.3cm main battery, a 13,000-ton displacement, and a 132,830 horsepower engine, giving it a speed of 33.8 knots. After the war began, the ship participated in and supported the Southern Invasion Campaign, taking part in major fleet operations such as the Battle of the Coral Sea, the Battle of Midway, and the Battle of the Philippine Sea. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944, the ship was hit by a torpedo and retreated to Colon. After emergency repairs, it headed for the mainland, but was rendered unseaworthy by a submarine torpedo attack. It was towed to Haguro and moored as an anti-aircraft gun battery at the Singapore/Seletar naval port. After the war, it was seized by the British Navy and sunk at sea. This product allows you to build the first Myoko-class ship, the Myoko, from the start of the war (1941-), the Battle of the Philippine Sea (1943-1944), or the Battle of Leyte Gulf (October 1944). The instructions have been updated for easier viewing and understanding. The product features a full hull that can be recreated down to the bottom, and includes a display stand for display after completion. The hull features a one-piece construction with the port and starboard sides molded as a single unit, resulting in a more stable assembly than a glued-together assembly. The upper deck is a single piece, while the forward and shelter decks are separate parts, and the rear half is integrated with the hull. The 25mm twin machine guns are available in both a traditional one-piece construction and a more precise two-piece construction. The two-piece construction allows for easy painting of the gunmetal barrel and the hull color of the base. Decals include naval ensigns and aircraft markings. *This product is made in Japan. *This is a plastic model kit that requires assembly.
