Product Introduction
IBG "1/72 Japanese Army Type 95 Ha Light Tank" plastic model kit.
The largest tank ever produced in Japan (over 2,300), this tank is an essential part of tank units' history during World War II.
The Type 95 was a main battle tank adopted in 1935.
The "Ha" designation is a codename given to the tank's development order, indicating the third tank developed in alphabetical order.
By the 1930s, the Type 89's slow speed caused complaints about its pursuit capabilities.
The gun, a low-velocity gun designed for infantry support, was insufficient for anti-tank use.
Furthermore, since a certain number of units were considered necessary, it also had to be affordable.
The armor, at the height of its popularity at the time, was deemed sufficient to withstand machine-gun fire, so a maximum thickness of 12mm was set.
Once production began, the tank was deployed on all fronts and performed well as the mainstay of the Japanese military, despite its challenges.
The top of the engine cylinder inside the engine room, the louvers and hinges on the top of the engine room, and the gun breech are all recreated.
The engine room hatch can be displayed open or closed.
Photo-etched parts and tracks are included.
