Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi made his full-fledged debut in 1978 with the single "Junrenka."
He released his first album, "Kaze wa Minami Kara" (Wind Comes from the South), the following year, and reached number one on the charts with "Junko" in 1980.
He continued to produce hit after hit throughout the '80s, including "Yuji," "Roku na Monja Nee," "Kanpai," and "Tonbo."
In the '90s, he released highly original albums such as "JAPAN" and "Captain of the Ship,"
and in 2003, his single "Shiawase ni Narouyo" surpassed 10 million copies in total sales.
He has since achieved the milestone of having 12 original albums reach number one on the Oricon charts as a solo artist.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he was one of the first to launch a radio program to support reconstruction efforts,
and frequently visited the disaster-stricken areas in person. In particular, his live concert to encourage members of the Self-Defense Forces, held at the Matsushima Air Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, moved the nation to tears.
As an actor, he has starred in the TV dramas "Kazoku Game," "Oyako Game," and "Tonbo,"
and the films "Music Box" and "Eiji," among others.
Furthermore, in the field of art, he held his first poetry and painting exhibition at the Nichido Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo, in 1998, and has since held exhibitions across the country, earning him high praise for his artistic skills.
