The Tale of Genji for a 14-year-old Girl (revised Edition) ~Hopefully One Day You'll Tackle the Original Text

Eleven years ago, in September 2014, on my daughter's fourth birthday, I had the idea: "Over the next ten years, I'll translate The Tale of Genji into modern Japanese and give it to my 14-year-old daughter as a birthday present." Since then, I've continued translating it little by little between my work at a prep school. In 2024, I published "The Tale of Genji for a 14-Year-Old Daughter" and gave it to my daughter, who was now in her second year of junior high school. This book is a revised edition. Since it was intended for my 14-year-old daughter, I aimed for an easy-to-understand and readable version. I've used plenty of subject information, quotation marks and ellipsis, and avoided cumbersome headnotes. I weave necessary explanations into the text without disrupting the flow of the text. However, as a translator, I maintain grammatical accuracy. I wanted the writing style to sound like a lady-in-waiting addressing a princess, so I used a gentle, polite, and polite style throughout. In addition, starting with the revised edition, I've included a "Dad Column" at the end of each volume, explaining the highlights of each volume, to encourage interest among junior high school students.
