The Type 82 Command and Communications Vehicle was the JGSDF's first domestically produced wheeled armored vehicle, officially adopted in 1982. It accommodates six command and communications personnel in the rear compartment, boasts high mobility for highway driving, and boasts agile maneuverability thanks to its six-wheel drive and four-wheel steering mechanism. It is deployed to infantry and artillery regiments nationwide.
