This product is based on the Kiha 58 series from circa 1978 (Showa 53).
Newly produced non-air-conditioned cars include the Kiha 28 0 series, the Kiha 58 0 series, and the 400 series for long formations.
For the KiRo 28, a self-powered, air-conditioned modified car equipped with a 4DQ engine is available.
The different forms of each series are accurately reproduced.
Kiha 58 400 series: No air-conditioning jumper plugs, and two end windows are reproduced. The front typhoon is reproduced as a shutter type.
Kiha 58/28 0 series: No round window below the passenger door, and no driver's cab side window inspection cover. The front typhoon is reproduced as a slit type.
Kiha 58/28 800 series: The position of the wash window on the left side is different from that of the 0 series. The train is reproduced in its distinctive school trip livery.
KiRo 28 100 Series: Compared to the existing KiRo 28 (newly manufactured air-conditioned cars), this model recreates the form of an air-conditioned modified car with significantly different roof heights, air-conditioning engines, air intakes, and coolers.
Both KiHa 58/28 cars are equipped with double-track snowplows.
The interior seats are reproduced in dark blue for regular cars and maroon for KiRo 28s.
The front display is printed with "Express" on cars equipped with built-in light units. All other cars are plain.
Only Car 1 of the "Iide" does not have a front hood; all other cars have front hoods. The through hood can be attached or removed as desired.
Safety device designation: "S"
Uses a flywheel-mounted power unit for stable running. Includes traction tires. br Head/tail lights and front display curtain illuminate (with switch to turn them off). Uses warm white LEDs. "Iide" cars 2 and 3 do not have light units.
The coupler is a body-mounted, self-coupling type.
Includes a body support and jumper plug that replicate the air hose.
Includes stickers featuring side signs, car number signs, and type signs.
