[Synopsis]
The story centers around International Rescue. With a focus on saving lives, the film depicts International Rescue's brave response to disasters and accidents.
International Rescue was founded by billionaire Jeff Tracy. His five sons, Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon, and John, use the state-of-the-art mecha, the Thunderbird, to travel the world, averting disasters and rescuing people, on land, sea, air, and even in space, with the help of Brains, the engineer who designs and builds all of International Rescue's rescue mecha, Kayo, the security officer, and Lady Penelope, the London agent.
They are not a military or police organization; their mission is to rescue people in need, and while they may thwart villains in the process, they never pursue them themselves. That is the role of the GDF (Global Defense Force). International Rescue is known worldwide, but its true nature is shrouded in mystery.
This is to uphold the Tracy family's rule of "selfless heroism." Another reason they maintain anonymity is to protect their safety from evil organizations that seek to obtain their technology. The Hood, who is plotting to uncover International Rescue's secrets and steal their cutting-edge technology to take over the world, is also believed to be behind the disappearance of Jeff Tracy, the father of the Tracy family.
At the end of Season 1, Keyo's secret was revealed and the notorious Hood was finally brought to justice. A few months later, with Hood's capture, International Rescue returns to saving lives "as usual."
But their daily lives are turned upside down with the arrival of a new villain calling himself "The Mechanic." He's like the Anti-Brains, manufacturing terrifying machines on an overwhelming scale with never-before-seen designs.
Unlike the greedy Hood, The Mechanic acts boldly and has a much darker plan.
While Hood views the damage caused by his actions as simply the price of doing business, the cold-hearted Mechanic now enjoys the process more than anything else. His face is hidden by a mask that covers his mouth, and his voice is electronically altered, making it impossible to know who he is.
Possessing more sophisticated and powerful equipment than The Hood, The Mechanic wears a high-tech suit that not only protects him but also allows him to directly control machines. In other words, when he wears the suit, he can move the mecha and vehicles he creates with ease, as if they were an extension of his body.
International Rescue suspects a connection between The Mechanic, this mysterious and powerful villain, and The Hood, but who exactly is The Mechanic?! Will the battle with the Hood truly come to an end...?
