Product Introduction
While highly effective for infantry transport and assaults, the E-100 Sechsfüsler was too bulky for reconnaissance or infantry support in mountainous terrain. Front-line combat required a compact, multi-legged tank that could be piloted by several crew members.
Aircraft control systems were adapted to allow one or two crew members to simultaneously communicate, pilot, and fire.
The fully-directed loading 7.5cm anti-tank gun and its complex control system, along with a fully retractable frontal armor (equivalent to a canopy), were adopted to facilitate mass production and maintenance, as well as to facilitate quick entry and exit on the battlefield.
