The model features triangular track units (tracks) instead of front and rear tires. The chassis is based on the GF-01 gear-drive 4WD, which features a motor mounted in the center of the monocoque frame and transmits power to the front and rear wheels via gears. Compared to tires, track units have a larger contact area, making them less likely to get stuck on rough terrain like snow, sand, and mud, and provide stable grip for a wider range of driving possibilities. The chassis is based on the gear-driven 4WD GF-01, with the GF-01FT featuring track units for the front and rear tires. The track units are attached to the uprights, and drive shaft power is transmitted to the tracks via sprocket wheels. Eight rollers are positioned on the ground contact surface. They feature a swing mechanism, and the third roller can move up and down independently, further improving ground contact. Of course, the ample ground clearance provided by the track units is also a major advantage on rough roads. The tracks are made of resin and feature a link assembly system with metal pins. Compared to rubber tracks, this results in less drive loss and allows for smooth running even at low speeds. Two types of track shoes are available: a flat standard type and a protruding grouser type, allowing you to choose the best fit for your road surface.
