About this item
CHAKSHUSHYA HERBS:The handmade Ayurvedic kajal known as Sunetri Anjana is crafted according to the ancient Ayurvedic text Sahasrayogam. It incorporates Chakshushya herbs such as Tulsi, Triphala, Sahadevi, and Daruharidra, all of which are known for nourishing and protecting the eyes. These herbs undergo a 21-day processing period to create a black medicated soot, which is collected on a copper plate, resulting in a kajal that is both therapeutic and beautifying for the eyes.
CASTOR OIL BASE:The oil base of Sunetri Anjana Ayurvedic kajal is made from natural ingredients such as castor oil, almond oil, and bee wax. These components not only make the kajal 100% natural but also provide multiple eye benefits. The kajal cools and moisturizes the eyes, helps to remove dryness, and promotes overall eye health by soothing and nourishing the delicate eye area
BALANCES PITTHA DOSHA OF EYES: In Ayurveda, the eyes are considered to be primarily governed by the Pitta dosha, particularly a subtype called Alochaka Pitta. Pitta is associated with heat, light, and transformation, and any imbalance in this dosha can lead to eye issues such as dryness, redness, inflammation, and sensitivity to light.Balancing Pitta through cooling, moisturizing, and soothing treatments—such as using Chakshushya herbs and oils found in products like Tatsat Ayurvedic Kajal—can help to reduce eye irritation and maintain eye health
IS IT SMUDGE PROOF ?: Ayurvedic Kajal may not be entirely smudge-proof. While it is designed to be long-lasting and uses natural ingredients for better adherence, reviews suggest that some smudging can occur, especially under certain conditions like humidity or oily skin. It’s still praised for its deep black color and nourishing properties, but users may experience some smudging depending on their skin type
NO PRESERVATIVES-LEAD-HEAVY METALS : Ayurvedic Kajal is a natural, dermatologically safe product, crafted in Kerala by a team of Ayurvedic doctors. It is free from preservatives, lead, and heavy metals, ensuring safety for all age groups, including sensitive eyes. Made using Chakshushya herbs and following traditional Ayurvedic principles, this kajal nourishes and protects the eyes. While it contains Pachakarpoora (edible camphor), which may cause irritation in some individuals, it's generally safe for babies, though a patch test is recommended for sensitive skin.
SAFE FOR BABIES/DERMATOLOGICALLY SAFE : Yes, Ayurvedic Kajal is generally safe for all age groups, including sensitive eyes, due to its natural ingredients and it is dermatologically safe as per the lab reports. However, the only potential allergen is Pachakarpoora (edible camphor), which may cause irritation in some individuals. It's advisable to test for sensitivity, especially when using it on babies or young children

CHAKSHUSHYA HERBS
CHAKSHUSHYA HERBS: The handmade Ayurvedic kajal known as Sunetri Anjana is crafted according to the ancient Ayurvedic text Sahasrayogam. It incorporates Chakshushya herbs such as Tulsi, Triphala, Sahadevi, and Daruharidra, all of which are known for nourishing and protecting the eyes.
PREPARATION OF MEDICATED CLOTH
To create the medicated cloth for Tatsat Kajal, unbleached raw cotton is soaked in a blend of fresh tulsi (holy basil) juice (swarasa) and sahadevi juice, along with a herbal decoction (kashaya) made from Triphala and Daruharidra (Indian barberry). The cloth is then dried in the shade to preserve its herbal potency. This soaking and drying process is repeated for 21 days, allowing the cloth to absorb the maximum therapeutic benefits of these herbs. This prolonged infusion ensures a high concentration of herbal nutrients in the cloth, which is later burned to produce the pure medicated soot used in the kajal, enriching it with cooling, soothing, and protective properties for the eyes.
Major ingredients
Tulsi, Triphala, Sahadevi, and Daruharidra
Tulsi, Triphala, Sahadevi, and Daruharidra work together to soothe eye irritation, reduce redness, enhance vision clarity, relieve dryness, and protect against infections, while also cooling and balancing the Pitta dosha, specifically Alochaka Pitta, which governs vision and overall eye health.
Castor oil
Castor oil in eye care helps with lubrication for dry eyes, reduces inflammation, and promotes eyelash growth.
Bee wax
Beeswax (Madhuchishta) in Ayurveda serves as a natural emollient, moisturizer and thickening agent.
Edible camphor
Edible camphor soothes, reduces inflammation, cleanses, and relieves dryness around the eyes, offering a cooling effect.
SOOTHING & COOLING FOR EYES
Eyes in Ayurveda are governed by Pitta dosha. Tatsat Ayurvedic Kajal, with Chakshushya herbs, helps balance Pitta and maintain eye health.
MEDICATED SOOT
Tatsat Kajal is crafted exclusively from medicated soot derived from Ayurvedic herbs, ensuring its purity and therapeutic benefits. Unlike conventional kajals that may use charcoal or artificial colorants, Tatsat Kajal relies solely on herbal soot produced through a traditional Ayurvedic process. This natural preparation not only enhances the kajal’s soothing and cooling properties but also ensures it is safe and gentle for the eyes, providing both beauty and eye health benefits without any synthetic additives.
