Loud, clear and powerful. Newly released VNL with 10mV output
Ortofon's "no-fly" stylus, the VNL, is a unique DJ cartridge known for its ability to customize playing feel with three different styli (replacement styli). Now, the high-output VNL TRIX and DANCE models have been added to the series. The lineup also includes the VNL TRIX/DANCE Premounted on the lightweight SH-2 headshell, ready to use right out of the box. Don't miss this powerful, punchy, new-generation Ortofon DJ cartridge.
I. Powerful and clear sound supported by a large 10mV output
The higher the cartridge's output voltage, the louder and more powerful it becomes. However, over-powering the output in pursuit of volume alone can disrupt the balance of the playback sound and cause distortion. Drawing on our years of expertise, we have developed a generator engine (magnetic circuit) that delivers clear, clear sound without saturating the playback sound, while still delivering powerful volume. While there are many DJ cartridges that offer high volume and impressive power, adding the requirement of a stylus that can accurately capture the subtleties of the music engraved on a record raises the bar. However, a cartridge bearing the Ortofon name must not only deliver high volume, clarity, and power, but also excellent tone. VNL's high-output models, TRIX and DANCE, were born from this aspiration.
II. The stylus (replacement needle) is fluorescent for improved visibility
The VNL TRIX/DANCE cartridges feature a fluorescent stylus (replacement needle) at the tip. This makes it easier to see the stylus on the record, even in dark locations. The TRIX cartridge is fluorescent white, while the DANCE cartridge is fluorescent yellow, to prevent confusion.
Ⅲ. TRIX/DANCE common body with stylus compatibility
The TRIX and DANCE bodies, boasting a high output of 10mV, were newly developed to suit these two models. This means that the bodies are the same for both, and you can enjoy playing by swapping the stylus (replacement needle). The white stylus tip is suitable for battle scenes where TRIX is appropriate, and the yellow for scenes where DANCE performance is desired. The weight and stylus pressure are the same, so the strength of the VNL series is that you can instantly change the character just by swapping the stylus.
VNL TRIX
Featuring a white fluorescent stylus, the TRIX uses a DJ-grade, high-rigidity aluminum cantilever and round stylus tip. This makes it durable enough to withstand the intense scratching and back-cueing that battle DJs often do, while maintaining consistent groove tracking. The VNL TRIX is a shell-mountable DJ cartridge with a character similar to the all-in-one Concorde MkII Scratch.
VNL DANCE
The high-end DANCE stylus features an elliptical stylus and is symbolized by a yellow fluorescent stylus. While offering the same high rigidity as the TRIX, the adoption of an elliptical stylus allows for more precise pickup of the sound from the record surface, resulting in the clearest and widest range of music reproduction in the VNL series. If you're looking for a DJ stylus with a rich, high-quality, and voluminous sound, like a more powerful version of the Concorde MkⅡ Club, then the DANCE is the one for you.
