Special Destroyer Type 2 A. From the latter half of the war in 1944 until the end of the war, its anti-aircraft armament was significantly strengthened. Similar to Yukikaze and Hibiki, Hibiki and Ushio survived the war and served as demobilization ships after the war. New additions include the Type 2 A's distinctive air intake at the base of the funnel and the anti-aircraft machine gun platform found on the strengthened anti-aircraft armament model.
