Brand Introduction
[Proteca]
"Proteca" is a travel bag brand from ACE, a long-established Japanese bag manufacturer.
Its origins date back to 1940, when founder Ryusaku Shinkawa opened a bag store called "Shinkawaryu Shoten" in Tennoji, Osaka.
In 1953, Shinkawa developed Japan's first bags made from the new material, "Toray Nylon."
These bags, colorful, lightweight, strong, and easy to clean, became so popular that they were even called "a major revolution in bags."
This innovative spirit led Ace to its dream of "creating world-class, made-in-Japan luggage."
In 2015, Oki Sato, president of the global design firm nendo, was appointed creative director of Proteca.
Carrying on the legacy of Ace since its founding, Proteca is embarking on a new stage, striving to make travel more comfortable for people around the world with functional suitcases.
