Features: A standard grit finishing whetstone. It is a versatile whetstone that can be used with any type of knife, but as it contains natural whetstones it is particularly well suited to Kasumi Japanese knives, producing a beautiful finish similar to the shading that occurs when sharpening with a natural composite whetstone. We recommend PA Medium Coarse Stone #220 for rough whetstones and Kirameki Series #1000.1500 for medium whetstones. It comes with a stand for stable use.
Note: Simply pour water over the knife and it can be used immediately. Because it is hardened at low temperatures, the abrasives and binders are still active. Therefore, if you leave it for a long period of time (several years to a dozen years) or leave it in water, it will be damaged. Also, if you leave the knife while sharpening, it may rust, so once you have finished sharpening, rinse it with water and wipe it off.
Always keep the surface that the blade touches horizontal. If the surface has worn down, we can repair it with a horizontal grindstone.
Size (mm): 70 x 210 x 20 (80 x 240 x 50 including base) Grit: #6000 (finishing stone) Manufacturing method: Resinoid manufacturing method
This is a finishing whetstone made by mixing an abrasive (alumina-based) and a binder (phenolic resin-based), molding it, and hardening it at low temperatures (around 120-200°C). Simply add water and it's ready to use. It's a finishing whetstone with a standard grit size. It comes with a base for stable use.
