This is a "rubber grindstone with shaft" that is made by kneading abrasives into rubber and hardening it, and is attached to rotating equipment such as a router.
This versatile whetstone uses composite abrasive grains (granular whetstones) and can be used for both cutting and polishing any object.
The grinding stone has a self-sharpening effect (the surface of the stone is naturally worn down and new surfaces are continually produced), so it does not clog and dressing is almost unnecessary.
Since you don't shave off a large amount at once, you don't shave off too much, which reduces unevenness in the work.
