This can cause rust. *In some cases, after use, boil the kettle empty for 30 seconds to 1 minute with the lid removed to remove any remaining moisture. *Wrap the kettle in newspaper or other suitable material and store in a dry place. *If rust occurs, water boiled in a rusty iron kettle is not harmful to the body, so continue using it as is. If rust is still a concern, wrap tea leaves in a tea bag and bring to a boil together. Repeat this process 2-3 times. Then, boil the kettle with water only 2-3 times until the water runs clear. The spout and underside of the lid are prone to rust, so scrub them off with a cloth soaked in tea. This Nanbu iron kettle was designed by furniture designer Makoto Koizumi. It has a sophisticated design unlike any other Nanbu iron kettle before, with a strong presence and yet an outstanding design that blends in with the surrounding interior. The inside of the kettle is treated with an oxide coating, making it rust-resistant. It is also highly practical, as it replenishes iron through the iron elution that is unique to ironware. It also has the excellent drainage properties that are characteristic of Nanbu iron kettles.
