Product introduction Clear prop "1/72 Soviet Air Force Lavochkin La-5 Fighter Early Type" plastic model. The Lavochkin La-5 is a single-engine, monoplane fighter aircraft developed by the Soviet Union's Lavochkin Design Bureau during World War II, and served as the main fighter of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in the middle of the German-Soviet War. The first active unit of La-5 was formed in September 1942 and was used in the Battle of Stalingrad. Its low-altitude maneuverability far exceeded that of previous aircraft, and its agile aircraft reactions made it easy to recover from a stall, making it possible to perform low-speed loops and Immelmann turns. La-5 appeared in large numbers on the front lines from around the time of the Battle of Kursk in 1943, and variations with replaced engines were also produced to improve basic performance. 9,920 La-5s were produced by the end of 1944, followed by the more aerodynamically sophisticated and lighter La-7.
