An "Excavated Resource Book" Filled with Osamu Tezuka's Adorable Characters
It's said that Osamu Tezuka drew over 150,000 pages of manga manuscripts throughout his career, but there are works that have never been published in book form. Many of these were published primarily in school magazines, a genre that Tezuka continued to be passionate about until his later years.
Many of the serialized works in school magazines feature animals or young boys and girls as protagonists, and feature many of Tezuka's signature adorable characters. These include school magazine versions of his most famous works, such as "Astro Boy," "Jungle Emperor Leo," and "Unico." While many school magazine manga are drawn in vibrant color, they are often not published in book form due to cost constraints. Even when they are, they are often traced for monochromatic printing.
This book is a collection of many of these unpublished works, primarily from school magazines, spanning from his early career to his final years. This volume brings together rare works rarely seen even by core fans, including original manuscripts of works previously included in the original volumes in traced versions, as well as newly discovered manuscripts that Tezuka himself reconstructed for the volumes but never published.
