Steel Rain is a 2.5-generation rotorcraft-type transformable HexaGear.

Seeking the crystal furnaces that were the source of a long-running corporate conflict and the enormous value they produced, people ignored the warnings of the environmental management AI and continued to produce HexaG-R-A-G-R-N in pursuit of their desires. As the contamination of the earth inevitably accelerated, MSG, the world's largest military-industrial complex, felt the need to quickly end the conflict and began developing a new concept HexaG-R-A-G-R-N as a way to turn the tide of the war. The resulting new HexaG-R-A-G-R-N is available in two versions: the "Early Model," a rotorcraft-type powered by HexaG-R-A-G-R-N, similar to the first generation, and the "Late Model," which features a system conversion mechanism to convert to a humanoid form. While the two models are very similar in appearance, their characteristics differ greatly.

While the early model lacks any notable features beyond being an aircraft already disappearing from the world at the time, its standard-issue dual 20mm Gatling guns and a wide range of ammunition options boast high reliability and ground attack capabilities. Combined with its aerial attack capabilities, this gives it a significant advantage over the vehicle-based and bipedal-based second-generation Hexa Gear of the time.

The seat unit within the cockpit features a "recline" function and a sliding mechanism to accommodate the model. The highly detailed cockpit features two types of movable levers and movable foot pedals, allowing you to enjoy a truly realistic governor riding position.
