Product Introduction
Yamashita Hobby 1/700 Naval Ship Model Series Special Type Destroyer Type II Amagiri SP Plastic Model NVE11
Selectable Era Kit for the Special Type Destroyer "Amagiri"
This is a historical episode version following "Ikazuchi 1942" and "Fuzuki 1943."
In May 1943, the destroyer encountered PT109, commanded by the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.
While there are differences of opinion regarding the sinking of PT109, with the U.S. side claiming it was sunk by a ramming attack by Amagiri and the Japanese side claiming it was a nighttime collision, the story is inspired by the incident in which PT109 caught fire and sank.
Late in the war, special type destroyers strengthened their anti-aircraft armament, and the "Amagiri" also had its second main battery bay removed and two triple 25mm machine guns added.
This kit allows you to recreate the destroyer's appearance in 1943 or 1944.
Etching parts include window frames, boat davits, and a torpedo loading crane.
The PT109 kit includes plastic model parts made in collaboration with Aoshima Bunka Kyozai.
