A masterpiece that weaves ancient Norse legends into modern times, reimagined in the author's own words!
The Volsungslied tells the tale of the great hero Sigurd. The tragic story of Sigurd and Brunhild, along with the Niflung prince Gunnar and his sister Gudrun, ends with Sigurd's death at the hands of his brother-in-law, Brunhild's suicide, and Gudrun's despair. The Gudrunlied tells Gudrun's fate after Sigurd's murder. She is forced to marry Atli the Great, ruler of the Hun, against her will.
