Katsushika Hokusai, the artist (painter) famous for his "Great Wave" painting (The Great Wave off Kanagawa), was an Edo period ukiyo-e artist who lived to the age of 90, a relatively long lifespan for the time. He continued to paint until the very end, hoping to improve his skills. Hokusai left behind 15 volumes of art manuals for his disciples. These are "Hokusai Manga." "Hokusai Manga" contains approximately 4,000 drawings. The books were created by artisans who printed Hokusai's sketches using woodblock printing. Every page is captivating.
