[USED] Yoji Kuri's Collection DVD (with Postcard)

It was a very enjoyable DVD to watch, with a revved-up engine that seemed to say, "This is what avant-garde animation is all about." "If you want people to go right, don't say right, just show them the true reality on the left." That seemed to be the style of Kuri's work as I watched it. It may be nonsensical, violent, and bizarre, but it's not completely unintelligible. To me, it seemed like a lot of it was about obsession with love and the meaning of one's existence, but even so, I think it's a lot of fun animation. Watching anime like this as a child would probably broaden your perspective. Let me introduce one incredibly short animation... A man attempts to commit suicide by jumping off a building. As he jumps, he sees a woman from a room in a high-rise building. The woman invites the man to her room. Seeing this, the man jumps off and calls for an ambulance, calling for help. For some reason, the ambulance stabs him with a stick as he comes down. FINISH... It's a story that could be described as romantic, melancholic, and charming, and I love it. It's only a short animation, but it really evokes a lot.
