Palmer Palmer "ilm" is a passive speaker simulator/DI box. By using the Palmer ilm speaker simulation DI box, you won't have to worry about changes in sound quality caused by guitar amp miking, such as microphone type, acoustic environment, and settings. You can select the cabinet type from three modes: "Normal," "Mellow," and "Bright" that simulate typical guitar speakers. You can get a natural guitar sound that sounds like a miked cabinet without using a microphone. Regardless of the location or environment, such as home, studio, rehearsal, stage, etc., it always outputs the sound exactly as you imagine.

The THRU function allows you to connect a cabinet and use a guitar amp at the same time on stage. Also, although it is usually connected between the guitar amp's output and the speaker, it can also be connected from the amp's line out. For adjusting the input level, there is a pad switch that can be selected from three levels: 0, -15, and -30dB.

[Precautions when using a vacuum tube amplifier] Make sure that the output of the connected amplifier does not exceed 120W at 8Ω. There is no dummy load in the speaker simulation box. To prevent damage to the amplifier, you must connect the THRU jack to a guitar speaker or dummy load.

The output is balanced and the transformer is isolated, so there are no ground loops and noise is suppressed even when connected to a mixer or audio interface.
