About TSC
WTB's patented tubeless sealing system, TCS (Tubeless Compatible System), revolutionized rims and tires in 2009 by combining ETRTO, ISO and UST standards with lightweight tubeless rotating weights. Never before has a standards-based tubeless system weighed so little. Certified as the first sealant-based tire for the UST system in 2012 by Mavic, TCS continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with purpose-built tires and rims specifically designed for each cycling discipline.. TCS light fast rolling (LFR)
A fast and efficient centerline tread compound combined with low-duty, sticky side lugs covers a flexible, gram-oriented carcass designed to meet demands yet be capable of off-road use.
SG2 puncture protection
Most sizes of this tyre are available with our all-new SG2 puncture protection, which is a lightweight nylon insert that provides bead-to-bead coverage and ensures every area of the tyre is protected from cuts and punctures.. As events get rougher and cyclists pedal further, the gravel gets tougher. It makes sense for gravel tires to become harder as well.
- Nylon fibers have a flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the spaces between the fibers and minimizes weight.
- The SG2 Protected Gravel Tires feature a 120tpi carcass which improves responsiveness over a traditional 60tpi tire.
- SG2 was specifically designed as a puncture protection layer, but it also improves air retention and eliminates sidewall seepage.
Dual DNA rubber compound
Dual DNA is the perfect combination of performance, grip and durability. The center line of the tread features a firmer rubber compound that boasts faster rolling and increased durability, while the side lugs are made of a softer, slower rebounding rubber that improves control and traction.
road plus
WTB Road Plus tires provide flexible, large-size grip and smooth ride characteristics beyond where the pavement ends.. Each of our Road Plus models combines a smooth centerline with varying levels of outer tread/lugs, providing varying degrees of cornering stability and traction to suit specific use conditions.. The high-volume road provides deceptively smooth performance on tarmac with stability that won't waver when chasing trusted individuals down dusty dirt roads.. Put it in a cross bike, put it in a road frame, the overall diameter will remain the same as a 700 x 30mm road tire. Ride it on asphalt, take it out onto dirt roads. Create a new riding experience no matter where your exploits take you.
Road Plus vs Standard 700c
Road Plus tire
From oversized to short handlebars
It just makes sense, perfect sense.. Why not get the benefits of being plus size without slowing down? Extra tubeless compliance with high volume dampens road noise, gravel vibrations and dirt imperfections. All the benefits of Road Plus are available on Horizon and Byway TCS tyres.
Fits modern Endurance frames
The Road Plus retains the same geometry as the existing Endurance road bikes, but adds a larger 650b tubeless wheel and tire in place of the 700c.. With the Road Plus TCS 650b x 47c tires sharing the same overall wheel diameter as a 700 x 30c tire, only slightly more chainstay clearance is required than a traditional road tire.. Pair it with a Ci24 Carbon or KOM i23/i25 650b TCS rim and you'll have a light, bulky, fast-rolling setup without having to go back to the drawing board to design a frame..
