The trimmer came charged. It doesn't buzz too loudly. But the cats thought this device was growling at them. The little one tried to hit it with her paw, the older one just growled and ran away. But my cats aren't used to grooming, their sister brought them. But I got the dog used to grooming since she was a puppy. She doesn't like it very much, but she reacts calmly.
