Product introduction
Speaking of Nara Leon, Bossa Nova's muse. Furthermore, he is also known as a pioneer who “discovered” important composers that would lead later MPB, such as Chico Buarchi and Caetano Veloso. However, if you look closely at that repertoire, you will notice that they have sung many songs from the old era at the same time as those. There are 23 LPs released by Nara under her own name, and out of 289 songs that were breathed in during that time, a whopping 37 songs were originally songs from the old era that were released during the SP period. Furthermore, if you add classical songs sung in an external project, Nara has breathed 49 old Brazilian songs throughout her life.
Thoroughly investigate such classical music. This album was a collection of those original recordings or recordings similar to those recordings. Of course, this is the first time in the world that this has been tried. The purpose is, of course, to let people know more deeply about the unknown side of the singer Nala Leon.
Nara's classic cover began with the influence of the great senior Joan Gilberto. As introduced in the rice edition “Joan Gilberto Loved Samba” (BSR-3010), Joan also loves samba from the old days, and has picked up many hit songs by Orlando Silva and Ciro Monteiro from a young age, or works by the composer Gerard Pereira that he loved. Bossa Nova's muse inherited Joan's attitude. Furthermore, by singing famous songs by pre-war female stars such as Carmen Miranda and Alassie de Almeida, known from her husband Kakar Dieguez's father's SP collection, that attitude evolves more and more.
And what reached even deeper was “Lindnea,” which is regarded as a sign of Tropicaria. Even with such innovative works, Nara was secretly working on Shoro made in the early 20th century and the old song Mozinha, which originated in the 18th century. It was around this time that Nara's attitude of “returning to the roots” was clearly expressed.
I quickly collected original recordings of classical songs sung by Nara and edited them for this album. The content included samba taught by Joan Gilberto to Mozinha and Shoro, and in the second half, folk songs that Nala was (supposedly) familiar with before her debut were also recorded. A “history of Brazilian music” seen through Nara Leon, so to speak. Similar to “Joan Gilberto Loved Samba,” your Bossa Nova feeling will definitely change if you listen to this.
Of course, it's a disco here edition, so the full booklet full of detailed explanations and rare photos is the same as always. Sound sources from the SP era will also be delivered with gentle and good sound.
Please recommend it to Nala Leon or any music fan interested in Bossa Nova, MPB, etc.
