Datura catalysium Ballerina is a variety with wonderful, very decorative, double inflorescences. An original annual plant that grows to 60-70 cm in height.
The greatest decoration are beautiful, large, trumpet-like, pleated flowers, purple on the outside and white on the inside, resembling the skirt of a spinning ballerina.
A plant for growing in large pots on the balcony, but also in the garden on high flower beds. The flowers last best in dry weather. The plant is poisonous. Blooming inflorescences should be trimmed so that the catalpa blooms again and prevents it from setting seeds.
Sow the seeds for seedlings from February to April at a depth of 1 cm. Seedlings can be planted in the garden or in pots on the balcony or terrace in mid-May, when the risk of frost has passed. Datura of this variety grows up to 70 cm. It is worth planting seedlings in suitably large pots. The plant blooms continuously from June to October.
