They are covered in fabric and something soft inside, like a soft button. Which is good, they will be warm, I wouldn't like to touch a cold plastic button. Easy to use, just push the button and releases the pin. Although I thought that the pin is short for our thick duvets it's not fits perfect. Happy with my purchase 👍

The pins are very brutal, I expected smaller size and finer sharp pins that would not damage fine linen. They are also quite heavy and not soft as the upper suggests with its fabric cushion like view

These are great. Have bought 4 more sets for friends. The release clip on the side holds the pin securely. An excellent idea.
