The switch supports IEEE 802.3i, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab and IEEE 802.3x standards, as well as IEEE 802.1p. Its store-and-forward transmission method, 2K MAC address table, 1 Mb packet buffer and support for 16 Kb jumbo frames provide the technical foundation for efficient network operation.

The durable steel desktop housing measures 100 × 98 × 25 mm and can also be mounted on a wall. LEDs integrated into each RJ45 port indicate connection and activity, while the separate power indicator shows the operating status of the device.

The TP-Link TL-SG105 is powered by an external 5 V DC / 0.6 A adapter. Maximum power consumption is 2.3 W at 220 V/50 Hz. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C, with non-condensing operating humidity of 10% to 90%.
