About the Manufacturer
Sori Yanagi, a master of Japanese industrial design. His works span a wide range, including the Olympic torch, furniture, tableware, and cutlery. In 1952, he established the Yanagi Industrial Design Institute. Since then, he has consistently pursued "ease of use." His philosophy is heavily influenced by his father, Soetsu Yanagi, a central figure in the Japanese folk craft movement. The handles of the pots, the curves of the kitchen tools—each one is created after verifying its usability using three-dimensional models. Stripped of all unnecessary elements to a stoic degree, only refined forms, usability, and beauty remain.
