The Cult, one of the UK rock bands that epitomized the 1980s, has released their first full-length album in six years!

■ The Cult In 1981, Ian Astbury (vocals) and Billy Duffy (guitar) formed their predecessor band, Southern Death Cult. At the time, they were primarily active in the post-rock scene, but in 1983 they changed their name to The Cult and shifted their musical style to hard rock and heavy metal. The success of their 1987 album "Electric" catapulted them to global fame. Despite a hiatus, the band continued to release albums consistently, and in October 2022 they released their 11th album, "Under the Midnight Sun.
